
Joe is a Navy veteran who began naval service in 1974 as a Seaman Recruit (E-1) and completed a successful career in 2004 as a Commander (O-5). He served entirely in the fields of cryptology/signals intelligence (SIGINT) and information operations (IO) afloat and ashore in tactical and strategic environments. Joe served as cryptologic division officer afloat, SIGINT collection officer, staff (afloat) cryptologist, IO training department head and as both an Executive and Commanding Officer. His post-military career has involved authoring the Navy's first Operations Security (OPSEC) Tactics, Training and Procedures publication and serving as the team lead for the Command and Control Demonstrations and Assessments directorate at U.S. Joint Forces Command. Joe currently serves as the SIGINT training (afloat) coordinator at the Navy IO Command-Norfolk.
